Along with two lovingly decorated ensuite bedrooms and a self contained one bedroomed annexe, guests also have use of our patio area and gardens.
Whether you wish to sit with a drink on a summer evening with wonderful views of the Wasdale Valley fells or read a good book or simply enjoy our garden. We are always delighted when people enjoy this very special place.
There is ample free on-site parking available for all guests of the Old School Bed & Breakfast and Betty’s Cottage and if you arrive on motorbike or bicycle, then there is also secure storage available for your piece of mind (Left at your own risk).
You can also enjoy a number of other facilities including free wireless internet, wakeup calls, ironing facilities, board games and a wide selection of DVD’s.
The Old School B&B serves breakfast in the garden room at a time to suit the guests.
We serve homemade breakfasts using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients – we want to support the local area and ensure our produce is as fresh as possible. Special dietary requirements are catered for with advanced notice.
Packed lunches served on our delicious home made bread are also available by arrangement.
Our local pub The Bridge Inn at Santon Bridge and nearby Irton Hall both serve food and offer our guests a 10% discount.
A short drive away is the Bower House Inn at Eskdale, serving excellent pub food and Real Ales.
The Woodlands Tearooms serves wonderful home cooked food during the day and the BEST CAKES IN THE LAKES.

Situated at the edge of the Wasdale Valley in the Lake District, The Old School B&B & Betty’s Holiday Cottage is ideally located to offer fast and easy access to the most popular tourist areas and sites in and around the Lake District.
The Lake District is England’s largest National Park and is home to Scafell Pike – its highest mountain and Wastwater – its deepest lake. It’s valleys and fells are home to idyllic villages, high moorlands and picturesque lakes.
There are also many recreational activities available, right on our doorstep.
If you are visiting on business or contracted for local employment, then our B and B and Cottage is only a short 14 minute drive away (on the south side of the site – less traffic) from Sellafield and LLWR (7.8ml).
Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available to our guests throughout the building along with use of photocopier, printer and office desk.
